A CALM, PRACTICAL STEWARDSHIP FOR AGING AT HOME

We offer a third path between “struggling alone” and “moving to a facility”

The Problem with "Standard" Care

When families realize an aging parent needs support, they are often presented with two imperfect choices:

1. Home Care Agencies: You hire a company that sends a rotating roster of hourly aides. You never quite know who is walking through the door, and the lack of consistency creates anxiety and confusion.

2. Assisted Living Facilities: You move your loved one out of their cherished home into an institutional setting, trading independence for safety.

The Cedar & Iron Difference: Stewardship

Cedar & Iron offers a different model: Stewardship.

We provide a consistent, professional presence that respects independence, personal authority, and the meaning of home. This is not a task-based service or a medical rotation. It is a long-term, relationship-based role built on trust.

The Power of One Trusted Person

Unlike agencies that send strangers, Eli Peterson is your single, dedicated point of contact.

No Revolving Door: We eliminate the stress of "stranger anxiety."

Deep Continuity: Because I am there consistently, I notice the small changes—a shift in mood, a decline in mobility, a change in habits—that rotating staff often miss.

True Advocacy: I don't just "watch" you; I know you. I help interpret situations, clarify medical options, and coordinate with families so decisions are made calmly, not in a crisis.

How We Work: Your Custom Life Plan

We don’t just "check in." We build a strategy to help you live well at home. Every client receives a Custom Life Plan tailored to their unique history, interests, and goals.

We focus on four key pillars of stability:

1. Mental & Social Engagement ("The Spark")

Isolation is the enemy of aging. We move beyond passive companionship to active engagement.

• What we do: We unlock interests—whether it’s discussing history, working on a memoir, or mastering a new piece of technology to connect with grandkids.

• The Goal: To keep the mind sharp and the spirit connected.

2. Physical & Environmental Stability ("The Foundation")

Safety doesn't mean wrapping you in bubble wrap; it means removing barriers.

• What we do: I monitor the home for maintenance issues before they become hazards, support physical goals (like a daily garden walk), and coordinate with contractors or specialists.

• The Goal: To preserve mobility and keep the home safe without turning it into a hospital.

3. The Business of Life ("The Admin")

Paperwork, passwords, and bills can be overwhelming. We reduce the noise.

• What we do: We act as an administrative partner—sorting mail to filter out scams, organizing tax documents, and managing passwords so families aren't left guessing.

• The Goal: To reduce anxiety and protect your financial dignity.

4. Legacy & History ("The Story")

Your life is a library of stories. We help preserve them.

• What we do: We dedicate time to documenting family history, organizing photos, or recording personal stories.

• The Goal: To ensure your values and memories outlast you.

About the Person You’re Trusting

Eli Peterson: Owner & Steward

Cedar & Iron is intentionally personal. When you work with me, you are hiring a combat veteran and former senior leader who understands that trust is earned through consistency and restraint.

My life has been shaped by responsibility—from earning Eagle Scout to serving as a military officer, Fortune 100 corporate executive, and ecclesiastical leader. But this work is also personal. As a son to aging parents, I understand the quiet weight families carry. I built Cedar & Iron to offer the kind of steady, human support I would want for my own family: clear communication, respectful boundaries, and a total absence of drama.

Is Cedar & Iron Right for You?

This service is a good fit if:

• You value independence and want to remain in your own home.

• You want a single, responsible person paying attention—not a rotation of strangers.

• You want families to be informed without feeling intruded upon.

• You want to avoid reactive, crisis-driven decisions later.

Service Area:

We intentionally serve a limited number of clients in North Beaverton and Portland’s West Hills (97229, 97225, 97221, and surrounding areas) to ensure availability and quality.
